How to Make It

1. Step
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, sift together the whole-wheat flour, baking powder, flaxseed meal, baking soda, millet meal, caraway seed, wheat gluten, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk (or milk substitute) and egg whites (or egg substitute) until well combined.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.

Lightly grease the bottom of a 5-by-8-inch loaf pan.
